Stéphane Brizé, known for his films "Mademoiselle Chambon," "A Life," and "The Value of a Human," presents us once again with a political film. In this extraordinary film, renowned actor Vincent Lindon portrays a worker spokesperson who is fearless, outspoken, and unafraid to raise his voice. The movie observes the struggle of 1,100 workers in a factory facing closure as they fight to protect their jobs. Brizé interviewed workers, human resources managers, CEOs, and lawyers representing both workers and employers to include contrasting perspectives in the film. Competing for the Palme d'Or at Cannes, "At War" examines the intersection of the human and economic dimensions, as Brizé wonders, "Can these two worlds, which seem so disparate, coexist? Can they possibly come together in today's society?"
